Is it more worth it to get a associate from community college and then do bsn online or go straight to bsn in a 4year college- but it will be more expensive?
Hi, most places require a BSN nowadays. That being said, you can do BSN in 4 years, or go to an accelerated BSN program (if you have previous non nursing bachelors) in like 18 months, or go to a 2 years associates in nursing and then do an online RN to BSN program.
The best option would be straight to go for BSN-but that does cost more. The cheapest option is going to be your associates from a community college and then going into an online program for the bachelors. Associates first has another advantage that you can get a job working in a hospital and have the hospital pay for your BSN degree. However getting a job with an associates is hard and not guaranteed. Many many other things come in play when making this decision. Bachelors is the best route if you can afford it. If you are a single mom supporting your kids, associates is the best option due to the flexibility of it. You also should remember that scholarships, distance to the different schools, and so many other factors come into play. But if your factoring solely money into the equation-then associates then to online BSN is the cheapest.
