Case of the day-AMS

Patient is a 35 year old male with a past medical history of type two diabetes and hypertension. The patient presents to ED with change in mental status and excessive sweating.

The patient’s wife is with the patient and denies anything unusual, no falls etc, has no idea why this is happening, and states it never happened before.

The doctor orders a CT scan of the head, and EKG which both come back normal. Blood is drawn to test for cardiac related diseases, and a CBC is drawn, and everything is within normal limits
